Living your life – Fabulous!

Give yourself permission to shine your light

“Happiness is never something we get from others. The happiness we feel is in direct proportion to the love we give” Anonymous

The “permission slip” I handed one of my clients the other day after a healing session, so surprised her that she giggled delightedly while assuring me she was going straight home to tape it onto her bedroom mirror … and then book that pedicure appointment she’d been putting off for months.

The slip read
“I give you permission – to do something just for YOU, every day

It’s truly the time now, for all of us women to HONOR all the women that came before us who paved the way for us to live our own lives.

Why not do yourself and your families a favour and be your #1 priority.

If each of us is to continue transforming our lives, and taking our rightful place in the world as leaders of our own destiny and still enjoy taking care of the loved ones in our lives …now’s the time to stop playing small and start using the Power of our Choice to become the women we know ourselves to be.

Anyone who has flown knows that in the case of an emergency “put your oxygen mask on first” because you’re no good to anyone if YOU can’t breathe. And yet even in this day and age with all the studies and information at our finger tips, telling us how important self care is when we are taking care of others – most women still struggle with making this a practice.

Stressed and overwhelmed, our abilities to problem solve and think clearly become severely compromised. It is not possible to solve problems when you have no time to stop and think about them.

We all need to give ourselves permission to let go of the guilt of trying to be all things to all people. Time to let go of the idea you’re being selfish for wanting to take the very best care of yourself.

If your life feels hectic and chaotic no matter how much you try to bring order to it, it probably means you’re trying to organise the chaos – maybe you need to cross some things off your schedule.

Teach the people you live with to take responsibility for themselves. Learn the art of saying NO! Share your to do list, delegate tasks and develop the capacity to accept help without feeling guilty

Be willing to start small, one step at a time. You might be looking at all of the above and thinking – “It’s such a long way from where I am now to how I want to be living.”

It only looks like that to begin with -but tomorrow and each day towards that goal could be days filled with small actions and forward movements.

You could be learning new things, having different experiences, feeling part of this new life you are choosing, instead of being a spectator standing on the sidelines.

The act of trying new things and of achieving can be very addictive (in the best sense), each step building to the next, pointing out the next direction.

Fall in-love with imperfection – it’s perfect!

Climb out of the perfectionist trap. The Perfectionist’s motto is “Almost done”

We can never be “done.”

Every household chore is a moment away from one more dirty dish, a spill on the floor, someone putting their “stuff” down on the newly tidied hall table. Allot yourself a certain amount of time to complete tasks and then stop and do something just for you.

I promise you the world won’t fall in.

“In this life we cannot do great things, we can only do small things with great love” -Mother Theresa

Do one thing at a time

Often when we are bringing change into our lives we can feel overwhelmed at how many things we’d like to be different or we’d like to do differently.

Practice doing one thing at a time.

Start with the one task that’s really calling your attention, and if it’s something you’ve been putting off for a while, break it into steps, use a timer, be easy on yourself.

So what are you waiting for?

What ONE thing could you do this week to create more space in your life, put the bounce back into your step, get your “sexy” back and feel beautiful and appreciated?

Are you ready to make this year, the one where you intentionally make better and more empowered choices for yourself? To risk more, to be wiser, more committed to changing your life for the better?
The world is changing. Maybe you are noticing this.
